Discussion Questions

1. Think of a time where you lost something important. How did you feel when you realized the thing was lost?

2. Have you ever been lost?

3. What type of people were naturally drawn to Jesus? Why?

4. Why were the Pharisees and religious leaders complaining about Jesus’ actions? And how do the parables that Jesus told relate to the complaints/criticisms?

5. If this story were told today with you cast as a Pharisee, who or what might you be complaining about?

6. Why is there joy in heaven over a sinner who repents? What does this reveal about God’s heart?

7. Is there something in your life that you need to repent of?

8. Who do you know that needs to be gone after, searched for, and found? How can you help point them to Jesus?
